Privacy policy
Last Updated: August 2026
Plain-English Summary
Welcome to Harambe System. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, purchase our products, or use our digital services.
Key highlights: We collect only the information necessary to process your orders, provide customer support, run fitness features you've opted into, and improve your experience on our site and app. When you enable health tracking, we read data from Apple Health or Google Health Connect only to show it back to you inside the app — we never sell it or share it with advertisers. If you work with a coach in the app, you choose exactly which categories of your data that coach can see, nothing is shared until you accept, and you can change or revoke it at any time. We share payment data with trusted partners like Shopify, Stripe, RevenueCat, and Google Play to run our store and process subscriptions securely. We also use AI tools (including Fireworks AI, Anthropic's Claude, and Google's Gemini) to help run the business and to power opt-in AI features in the App. These tools are configured so your data isn't used to train AI models. Our online store uses cookies, advertising tools, and creator-partnership tools, including tools from Meta, Google, Reddit, Shogun, and Shopify Collabs, and you have the right at any time to access, update, or completely delete your data (including full account deletion). Please read the full policy below for all the details.
The Harambe Fit app sends no data to advertising platforms. We removed Facebook's tracking from the app in August 2026. We measure which links bring people to us using our own records, in our own database, and we do not share that with anyone.
This Privacy Policy describes how harambesystem.com (the "Site"), our mobile application Harambe Fit (the "App"), and Harambe System LLC (collectively, "we" or "us") collect, use, and disclose your Personal Information when you visit the Site, use the App, or make a purchase.
Collecting Personal Information
When you visit the Site or use the App, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with our services, and information necessary to process your purchases. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for customer support. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to any information that can uniquely identify an individual (including the information below) as "Personal Information". See the list below for more information about what Personal Information we collect and why.
Device information
- Examples of Personal Information collected: version of web browser, IP address, time zone, cookie information, what sites or products you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site or App.
- Purpose of collection: to load the Site and App accurately for you, to perform analytics on usage to optimize our services, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
- Source of collection: Collected automatically when you access our Site using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, or pixels, or when you use the App.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify, and with our hosting provider Vercel, which processes network requests (including IP addresses) in order to serve the App. For the Site only, device information may be shared with advertising partners for ad measurement. The Harambe Fit app does not share device information with any advertising partner.
Referral and campaign information
- Examples of Personal Information collected: the referring website, the page you first landed on, and any campaign parameters (such as utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign) contained in the link you used to reach the Site. The Harambe Fit mobile apps do not collect campaign or referral information.
- Purpose of collection: to understand which partners, creators, and campaigns introduce people to us, and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. If you create an account, we store these values on your account record so that we can attribute your signup to its original source.
- Source of collection: read from the web address you arrive on and from your browser's referrer header. These values are held only for the duration of your browsing session and are not stored on your device — we set no cookie and no browser storage for this purpose. If you create an account, the values are saved to your account record; if you do not, they are discarded when you close the page.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: not shared with any third party. Stored in our own systems (Shopify and Supabase).
Order information
- Examples of Personal Information collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number.
- Purpose of collection: to provide products or services to you to fulfill our contract, to process your payment information, arrange for shipping, and provide you with invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
- Source of collection: collected from you.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify and our payment processors Stripe, RevenueCat, and Google Play (for Android subscriptions).
Account and authentication information
- Examples of Personal Information collected: your email address, password (stored only in hashed form), display name, and — if you choose Sign in with Apple — an authentication token issued by Apple.
- Purpose of collection: to create and secure your account, keep you signed in, and, if you delete your account, to tell Apple to revoke the connection.
- Source of collection: collected from you, or issued by Apple when you choose Sign in with Apple.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: stored in our own systems (Supabase). Apple receives authentication requests when you use Sign in with Apple. You can read about Apple's privacy practices here: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Customer support information
- Examples of Personal Information collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number.
- Purpose of collection: to provide customer support.
- Source of collection: collected from you.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify. We also use AI assistants (Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini, both configured so that your data is not used to train AI models) internally to help draft responses and analyze customer issues.
AI feature information
- Examples of Personal Information collected: text prompts, goals, preferences, and other inputs you provide to AI-powered features (such as the AI Program Builder and AI Meal Planner); generated outputs; and usage metadata such as success or failure status and timestamps.
- Purpose of collection: to provide and improve AI features, troubleshoot errors, and prevent abuse.
- Source of collection: collected from you when you use AI features in the App.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: prompts are sent to our AI providers for processing — Fireworks AI for text-based AI features, and Anthropic for vision-based features such as form checks. Neither provider uses your data to train AI models. You can read more about how Anthropic handles data here: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy. Generated programs and meal plans are stored in your account.
Internal AI tools
- Examples of Personal Information processed: customer names, email addresses, shipping/billing addresses, order details, support messages, and other Personal Information we hold that we may pass to AI tools when handling customer service, marketing, analytics, or store operations.
- Purpose of processing: to support internal business operations including drafting customer responses, analyzing store and order data, and managing our Shopify store. This includes use of Anthropic's Shopify connector, which allows Claude to read store data (such as products, orders, and customer records) on our behalf when we ask it to.
- Source of collection: derived from Personal Information you previously provided through orders, support requests, or App use.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: processed by Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini, via Google Workspace). Both providers are configured so that your Personal Information is not used to train AI models. You can read about Anthropic's privacy practices at https://www.anthropic.com/privacy and Google's at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Health and fitness data
- Examples of Personal Information collected: sleep patterns (including sleep stage durations and naps), heart rate samples recorded during workouts and rest, step counts, body weight entries, and workout sessions (type, duration, distance, and energy burned). Collected only when you explicitly enable Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android) integration.
- Purpose of collection: to display your fitness and recovery data within the App, compute rolling statistics (resting heart rate, streaks, weekly summaries), and let you log workouts once across your devices.
- Source of collection: read from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android) after you grant permission. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's system settings.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: not shared with any third party. Stored in your Harambe Fit account via Supabase (our backend provider) and cached on your device for offline use. Never sent to advertisers or used for ad targeting. May be shared with a coach you have chosen, only in the categories you have enabled — see "Coaching data" below.
Body measurements and logged activity
- Examples of Personal Information collected: body measurements you record, food and water logs, and the barcodes or food names you search for.
- Purpose of collection: to track and display your own progress and nutrition back to you.
- Source of collection: entered by you, or scanned by you using your device camera.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: stored in your account (Supabase). Food text searches are made by our servers, so the nutrition databases we query do not receive your device information. Barcode scans are sent from your device directly to Open Food Facts, which receives your IP address along with the scanned barcode. May be shared with a coach you have chosen, only in the categories you have enabled.
Progress photos and workout videos
- Examples of Personal Information collected: photographs you upload to track your progress, and video you record for form checks.
- Purpose of collection: to store and display your own media back to you, and — where you choose — to send form-check video to a coach or to an AI form-check feature.
- Source of collection: uploaded or recorded by you.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: stored on our behalf by Cloudflare R2. Video is transcoded by Fly.io. Where you use the AI form-check feature, video frames are sent to Anthropic for analysis. Progress photos are never shared with a coach unless you explicitly enable that setting.
Coaching data
- Examples of Personal Information collected: the categories of your data you choose to share with a coach — workouts, nutrition, body metrics, sleep, and progress photos — together with programs, meal plans, messages, and notes your coach creates about your training.
- Purpose of collection: to allow a coach you have chosen to review your training and provide programs, meal plans, form checks, and messages.
- Source of collection: drawn from data you have already recorded in the App, and shared only after you accept a coaching invitation.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with the individual coach you accept, and with no one else. When you accept a coaching invitation, you choose which categories of your data that coach can see — workouts, nutrition, body metrics, sleep, and progress photos — and nothing is shared until you accept. Progress photos are never shared unless you explicitly turn them on. You can change these choices or remove a coach at any time in Settings, and changes take effect immediately. These limits are enforced by our systems, not only in the interface: if a category is switched off, that data is not sent to your coach.
Social features data
- Examples of Personal Information collected: your friend connections, posts, comments, reactions, and any gym you join or associate with your profile.
- Purpose of collection: to provide the social features of the App.
- Source of collection: collected from you when you use those features.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: visible to other users of the App according to the feature you are using and the audience you post to. Not shared with any third party for advertising.
Diagnostic and error logs
- Examples of Personal Information collected: technical records of errors, failed requests, and performance problems, which may include your account identifier, device type, and the action that failed.
- Purpose of collection: to detect, investigate, and fix faults in the App.
- Source of collection: generated automatically as you use the App.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: stored in our own systems (Supabase) and in our hosting provider's logs (Vercel). Not used for advertising or profiling.
Push notification data
- Examples of Personal Information collected: device push tokens issued by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on Android.
- Purpose of collection: to send you rest-timer notifications, streak reminders, and activity updates from friends. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's system settings.
- Source of collection: generated by your device's operating system when you grant notification permission.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: tokens are sent to Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) to deliver the notification, and notification content passes through the same services. We use Firebase solely for push message delivery — we do not use Firebase Analytics. Not shared with advertisers.
Minors
The Site and App are not intended for individuals under the age of thirteen (13). We do not intentionally collect Personal Information from children. If you are the parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us at the address below to request deletion.
Sharing Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfill our contracts with you, as described above. For example:

- We use Apple's Sign in with Apple service for authentication if you choose it, and Apple Push Notification service to deliver notifications.
- We query the Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central databases when you search for a food or scan a barcode. Text searches are sent by our servers and do not identify you. Barcode scans are sent directly from your device to Open Food Facts, which receives your IP address along with the barcode. You can read about Open Food Facts' privacy practices here: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy.
- We use Fireworks AI to power the App's text-based AI features, and Anthropic's Claude for vision-based features such as form checks, for opt-in AI features in the App, and to support internal business operations including via Anthropic's Shopify connector. When a purchase is attributed to a creator, Collabs receives order details and customer contact information in order to calculate and pay commission. You can read about Shopify's privacy practices here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Behavioral Advertising
This section describes advertising activity on the Site (harambesystem.com). The Harambe Fit app and harambe.fit do not use advertising or analytics tools of any kind, and send no data to advertising platforms.
As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example:
- We share information about your use of the Site, your purchases, and your interaction with our ads on other websites with our advertising partners. We collect and share some of this information directly with our advertising partners, and in some cases through the use of cookies or other similar technologies (which you may consent to, depending on your location). This applies to the Site only.
- On the Site (harambesystem.com), we use Meta (Facebook) advertising tools, including the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API, to measure the effectiveness of our ad campaigns and to attribute conversions (such as purchases) back to our ads. Through these tools, we may share information such as your email address (in hashed form), IP address, browser information, and cookie identifiers with Meta to improve ad targeting and measurement. You can learn more about Meta's data practices here: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/. The Harambe Fit app and harambe.fit do not use the Meta Pixel or the Meta Conversions API, and send no data to Meta.
- On the Site, we use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Google. This may involve sharing information such as your IP address, browser information, and cookie identifiers with Google. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
- On the Site, we use the Reddit advertising pixel to measure the effectiveness of campaigns run on Reddit. This may involve sharing information such as your IP address, browser information, and cookie identifiers with Reddit. You can read about Reddit's privacy practices here: https://www.reddit.com/policies/privacy-policy.
Health and fitness data is never used for advertising. Data read from Apple Health or Google Health Connect is used only within the Harambe Fit app to display your own statistics back to you, and to share with a coach where you have chosen to.
For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative's ("NAI") educational page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.
You can opt out of targeted advertising by:

Using Personal Information
We use your personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfillment of your order, and keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.
Lawful basis
Pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), if you are a resident of the European Economic Area ("EEA"), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:
- Your consent;
- The performance of the contract between you and the Site;
- Compliance with our legal obligations;
- To protect your vital interests;
- To perform a task carried out in the public interest;
- For our legitimate interests, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Health and fitness data, body measurements, and progress photos are processed on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give when you enable the relevant integration or accept a coaching invitation, and which you may withdraw at any time.
Retention
When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information. For more information on your right of erasure, please see the 'Your rights' section below.
Automatic decision-making
If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), when that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you.
We DO NOT engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data.
Our processor Shopify uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.
Services that include elements of automated decision-making include:
- Temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This denylist persists for a small number of hours.
- Temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses. This denylist persists for a small number of days.
Your rights
GDPR
If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you, to port it to a new service, and to ask that your Personal Information be corrected, updated, or erased. If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us through the contact information below.
Your Personal Information will be initially processed in Ireland and then transferred outside of Europe for storage and further processing, including to Canada and the United States. Our service providers — including Shopify, Stripe, RevenueCat, Supabase, Vercel, Cloudflare, Fly.io, Upstash, Anthropic, Fireworks AI, Google, and Apple — rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or equivalent transfer mechanisms to protect your data. For more information on Shopify's transfer practices, see Shopify's GDPR Whitepaper: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/your-account/privacy/GDPR.

If you would like to designate an authorized agent to submit these requests on your behalf, please contact us at the address below.
We do not sell your Personal Information for money. However, our online store at harambesystem.com uses advertising, analytics, and creator-partnership tools — including tools from Meta, Google, Reddit, Shogun, and Shopify Collabs — which may involve sharing information such as your name, email address (including in hashed form), IP address, order details, and cookie identifiers with those platforms for advertising measurement, targeting, and commission attribution. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, this activity may be considered "sharing" of Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may opt out by emailing us at support@harambesystem.com, or by using the browser and platform controls listed under "Behavioral Advertising" above. Storage used by the Harambe Fit app
The Harambe Fit app and harambe.fit set no cookies and use no advertising or analytics storage. They do use your device's local storage to hold information the App needs in order to work:
- Your login token, so you stay signed in between visits.
- An offline cache of your workouts, programs, and recent activity, so the App keeps working without a connection.
- Your display preferences, such as units and layout choices.
This storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked us for. It is never used for advertising, never used to build a profile of you, and never shared with anyone. Signing out, clearing your browser storage, or deleting the App removes it.
The length of time that a cookie remains on your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a "persistent" or "session" cookie. Session cookies last until you stop browsing and persistent cookies last until they expire or are deleted. Most of the cookies we use are persistent and will expire between 30 minutes and two years from the date they are downloaded to your device.
You can control and manage cookies in various ways. Please keep in mind that removing or blocking cookies can negatively impact your user experience and parts of our website may no longer be fully accessible.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can choose whether or not to accept cookies through your browser controls, often found in your browser's "Tools" or "Preferences" menu. For more information on how to modify your browser settings or how to block, manage or filter cookies can be found in your browser's help file or through such sites as www.allaboutcookies.org.
Additionally, please note that blocking cookies may not completely prevent how we share information with third parties such as our advertising partners. To exercise your rights or opt-out of certain uses of your information by these parties, please follow the instructions in the "Behavioral Advertising" section above.
Do Not Track
Please note that because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to "Do Not Track" signals, we do not alter our data collection and usage practices when we detect such a signal from your browser.
